Welcome to the Accessible Healthcare Lab at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Department of Health and Kinesiology.

Our lab is dedicated to improving health and well-being for blind and low-vision individuals. We develop accessible healthcare information and service models, design tailored health education programs, and create inclusive physical activity and exercise programs that meet the unique needs of the blind and low-vision community.

Accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do. In both our research and education, we work to ensure that healthcare systems, health information, and community environments are designed so that everyone can participate fully and safely.

We believe that social and structural barriers should never stand in the way of a healthy life. Through research, collaboration, and innovation, we aim to build a more inclusive society—one where blind and low-vision individuals can achieve optimal health, quality of life, and well-being.

Together, we are working toward a future where accessible healthcare is not an exception, but the standard.
